Membership into WACSOF

Eligibility Requirements

The minimum requirements to be fulfilled by CSOs seeking membership to WACSOF are as follows:

• Be a local, national, a transnational or an African Diaspora CSO;
• Have aims and objectives that are in harmony with the philosophy and aims and objectives of WACSOF;
• Must have its ownership and management comprising at least fifty percent (50%) of persons of West African or African origin.

• Be duly registered in a Member State of ECOWAS unless the requirement of registration is excused for want of formality by the Executive Committee of WACSOF;
• Should have been in operation for a minimum of three (3) years before the date of application to membership;

CSO outside ECOWAS member states and eminent individuals can apply for associate membership and shall be determined by the People’s Forum upon the recommendation of the Executive Committee.

A request for membership to WACSOF shall be submitted to the Regional secretariat.

Membership Obligations

• Membership to WACSOF shall be subject to renewal every four (4) years, according to modalities specified in the Rules of Procedure of WACSOF;
• Adherence to a Code of Conduct and Ethics to be developed by the Executive Committee of WACSOF and approved by the Peoples’ Forum.
